It influences the environmental political agenda to discuss the challenges faced by indigenous and community women in the defense of territory in Mesoamerica. It is responsible for strengthening the capacities of youth in Indigenous Peoples and local communities in Mesoamerica, in order to form leaders who understand their role in their communities, and know how to address the social and environmental challenges of their environment. MLE seeks to cultivate youth who are proud of their identity and with critical capacity, aware of their challenges but also of their potential to face them.
Composed of young leaders of Indigenous Peoples and local communities in Mesoamerica and acts as a platform for political advocacy, we seek to articulate community actions to empower and train young people to achieve spaces for participation at the local and international level, through the construction of a regional youth agenda, which connects with that of youth at the global level.
