The Global Alliance of Territorial Communities met Thursday with representatives of the United Nations to discuss the importance of the Climate Action Conference having input from indigenous peoples and local communities. The Summit will be held on September 23 in New York.
With Ambassador Luis Alfonso de Alba, special envoy for the Climate Summit, the Alliance presented the main demands and highlighted the need for nature-based solutions considering the role of indigenous peoples and local communities.
The Global Alliance emphasizes that there should be no nature-based solutions without the involvement of indigenous peoples and local communities as a stakeholder in the climate solution equation.
